When you’re setting up your Insider Pass, you’ll probably have questions about how push notifications work, limits, analytics, integrations, and more.
Here’s a collection of the most common questions we get about MyInsiderPass.
What happens if a push notification fails?
If a push notification fails, we detect it immediately. You’ll see a status update in your dashboard.
On top of that, we automatically send the notification via email fallback to ensure your audience never misses the update.
Are there limits to how many push notifications I can send?
Yes. These limits are set by Apple and Google:
- Apple Wallet: 10 push notifications per pass, per day
- Google Wallet: 3 push notifications per pass, per day
If you hit the daily limit, MyInsiderPass will automatically deliver the remaining notifications via email instead of push, until the limit resets.
What kind of information do I get about push notifications?
Right now, MyInsiderPass provides:
- Delivery status (confirmed from Apple and Google)
- Fallback method (whether it was sent as push or email)
- Click tracking (we track link clicks with behind-the-scenes logic)
Each notification also includes analytics about:
- Who it was sent to
- The type of notification (push or email)
- Engagement activity (click-throughs where available)
Can I build lists or segments to send notifications to?
Yes. MyInsiderPass includes a built-in CRM for managing your audience.
You can:
- Build contact lists
- Segment by tags, groups, or activity
- Target specific insiders with personalized notifications
Can I export my audience or contacts?
Yes. Export is possible. Right now it’s handled by our team manually. If you need a contact export, just reach out and we’ll provide it for you.
We’re working on adding self-service export tools directly into the builder in a future update.
Is there a REST API?
Yes. We already run MyInsiderPass on a REST API behind the scenes.
In the next 1–2 months, we’ll begin exposing this API publicly. The first endpoints will allow you to:
- Programmatically send push notifications to your audience
- Create and assign Insider Passes for your users
More endpoints will follow as we expand integrations.
Do I need an app to use MyInsiderPass?
No. That’s the beauty of it. MyInsiderPass uses Apple Wallet and Google Wallet technology, which is already built into every smartphone.
Your insiders don’t download an app—they just add your branded pass to their phone.
Can I customize the look of my pass and social page?
Yes. You can fully customize:
- Brand colors
- Layout style (video, pass preview, bullet points)
- Backgrounds and logos
- Messaging and CTAs
Both the pass and the social page are designed to look like they belong to your brand, not ours.
How do insiders join my program?
Insiders join through your social page.
They:
- Tap your link or scan your QR code
- Enter their name and email
- Download the pass to their phone
From that point forward, they’re part of your insider program and can receive push notifications.
What’s next for MyInsiderPass?
We’re actively building:
- Public REST API (for automation and integrations)
- More analytics (click-through detail, time-to-open)
- Advanced segmentation (dynamic lists, behavioral triggers)
- Self-service contact exports
We’re moving quickly, and your feedback directly shapes the roadmap.
Summary
MyInsiderPass is designed to make direct audience communication simple and reliable. With push notifications, email fallback, analytics, CRM segmentation, and upcoming API support, you have everything you need to run a branded insider program without the cost of building an app.
